About me
Not only different countries, cultures and languages have always been my passion, but also the transfer of knowledge. Growing up in rural Upper Bavaria, I was soon drawn to the big, wide world. I have lived in the USA, Spain, Nicaragua, and Thailand, and have now travelled to 47 countries (mainly in Europe, South-East Asia, and Latin America). I know what kind of challenges foreigners might face in other countries and how important communication and understanding are with regard to mentality and customs.
As a certified, publicly appointed and sworn translator and interpreter (German/English), I know all facets of these languages and teach them with fun, variety, and humour. Many years of teaching experience enable me to support especially people with learning blockages and to design the lessons in a practical and exciting way, individually adapted to the respective needs and goals of the participants. Effective learning should be fun!
I am particularly interested in helping foreigners who want to live and work in Germany or are already here, to get to know the country and its people. My practice-oriented Cultural Awareness Trainings (C.A.T.) provide all the necessary information on history, culture, manners, institutions, business and private life, family, education, health, leisure, politics, economy, and much more!
Since 2008 I have also been working as a tour and city guide, showing tourists and locals the highlights of Munich and the surrounding countryside. Later, I also organised and conducted tours in twelve countries around the globe.
For me it is important to not only convey facts, but also background knowledge, e.g. why some things are the way they are or how they came about. You will realise some things about Munich, Germany, and the Germans that not even most Germans know, so expect some eye-opening insights!
Please let me know if there’s anything I can do for you. I’m happy to help and look forward to hearing from you!
